ABOUT US
Fili Islander Clothing Company emphasis the styles of Philippine
culture and expression for today's Filipino & Filipina Islanders.
It took over a year just to think of the concept and logo which
was right in front our face but the result was profound. Our innovative
ideas and approach has been accepted by islanders worldwide.
Within the logo you will see 2 characters overlapping each other
having its own syllable. The first character is "fi" and
the second character is "li". Plain in simple the logo
spells out "Fili" short for "Filipino". The
Fili Islander logo is based on the ancient Filipino script. Many
commonly call this script that came from the Philippine Islands
as "Alibata" but the proper name for it is "Baybayin".
This ancient tribal script appeared to be noticeable in the late
16th century. We must let you know that translating the script into
words can be interpreted in many ways. Many people who have studied
this script and finding it hard to come up with the exact translation
guide. Since it was implemented many modifications have been made
throughout the time it developed.
Since the script as we know does not contain the letter "F"
it is substituted with a "P". As you know when we describe
Filipino people there are several ways of spelling it from the way
Americans spell it Filipino or Filipina to the Philippines way of
spelling it Pilipino or Pilipina. Another term used is Pinoy and
Pinay.
I hope this explanation can justify and help others understand
what we are trying to interpret through the clothing line. We as
Fili Islander's have courage & bravery, noble ideals, and peace
& purity. That is why the colors of our flag are red, white,
blue, and yellow. Our goal is to implement our everyday Filipino
and Pinoy culture and express them through our shirts, hoodies,
head gear & anything else we can come up with. Some of our designs
contain phrases where many take it as a joke but sometimes the best
humor is if we can look within ourselves to understand why we are
who we are.
Fili Islander was built like a Filipino food recipe from scratch.
We make sure we have the right ingredients to make the best "Chicken
Adobo" out there. We have expanded our business ventures into
a event production company called "PSP-Profound Sound Productions"
and in the asian import car scene called "Drift Tactics Racing
& Apparel". We also plan to express our filipino pop culture
through music, song, lyrics, movies, artists, actors, models and
anything where we can let others know what we are all about.
